Biography
Charles Krieg heads the firm's estate administration and litigation department. Mr. Krieg counsels executors, administrators and trustees regarding their duties as fiduciaries. In addition, Mr. Krieg represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in will contests, fiduciary removal actions, accounting matters and other probate proceedings. Mr. Krieg provides complex estate planning to minimize liability and tax burdens which services include drafting: wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trust, life insurance trusts, Medicaid trusts, living wills, health care proxies and powers of attorney.
Mr. Krieg is an experienced commercial litigator with extensive appellate experience. His expertise extends to creditors' rights, an area in which he has unparalleled experience, which includes piercing and reverse piercing of the corporate veil, invalidating the assignment of lottery proceeds, findings of civil contempt, obtaining turnover and installment payment orders, garnishing and levying of funds, several of which are memorialized in reported decisions. Mr. Krieg's expertise in creditors' rights has allowed him to gain a unique perspective on debtors' rights allowing him to assist clients in protecting their assets.
Mr. Krieg graduated from New York University in 1987 and majored in mechanical engineering. He received his Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University School of Law in 1993.
Mr. Krieg is admitted to the practice of law in the courts of the State of New York and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
